Engineering Product Design
Career Chronicles
Professional Experience
2020 - Present
Reliability Engineer, Apple Inc.
Shipped: M4 and M3 MacBook Air, M1 Mac Pro, Channel Store Fixtures deployed in 100+ stores internationally
Driving reliability decisions influencing design, process, and integration for systems with millions in shipping volume to meet/surpass our rigorous field reliability standards
2025
Internal Product Design Rotation, Apple Inc.
-
Designed (on NX), built, and deployed a new-to-Apple cycling test fixture to drive design down-selection and characterize dynamic flexible circuit behavior for a next-gen Mac program.
-
Created technical synergy by connecting experts from disparate teams and developing a cohesive workflow for fatigue modeling including model development, simulation, testing, and design
2019 - 2020
Mechanical Design Engineer, Halliburton Energy
Responsible for improving field performance of downhole drilling and telemetry tool (QuickPulse™) deployed at oil rigs through development of custom test fixture design and development.
-
Designed (on SolidWorks), engineered a pressure test fixture to withstand extreme conditions (20K psi, 165°C) including material selection, CAD design (SolidWorks), FEA simulation (ANSYS), prototyping, and in-house machining.
Education
2017-2019
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Management
Fell in love with designing real things for the real world.
-
Product design (architected the concept for a modular lighting system, created a working prototype ), mechatronics (designed a terrible ball collecting robot), thermal systems design (software based).
-
Co-oped at Halliburton for a semester, studying (and predicting) erosion on drilling tool parts on ANSYS Fluent to minimize downhole non productive time and tool replacement dollars.
-
Worked with Eli Lilly as part of an experiential learning project to create an actionable strategy for enhancing research collaboration of the company with academia
-
Pursued my private pilot dream on the side. (Got to solo!)
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
Experimented with different interests.
-
Designed, built (and failed to fly) RC planes
-
Did an overseas semester long thesis on computational fluid dynamics. Learned I did not enjoy it enough to pursue it at the Masters level.
-
Published a paper on a MEMS based sensor concept. Filed for a patent with Indian Patent Office. (granted 2023)
-
Led a team of 20+ students to raise the highest amount in sponsorship money until then for our annual national level technical event to directly influence the culture of technical interest and innovation on campus.
-
Hiked to some less explored and epic waterfalls in the state
Skills
& Expertise
Technical/Engineering
Design thinking, DFMEA, Risk assessments, driving convergence and qualification conversations, program management, prototyping, executive communication
Software
3D CAD (NX, Shapr), Statistical tools (JMP)

Software skills are fluid based on which ones I exercise at different points in my career. For my internal rotation, I picked up coding again to enable my design fixture (something I hadn't touched in almost a decade)
